as promised i started the series of designs for disney villains and princesses. Many of you know that i usually spend hell lot of time on each design making it perfect- but for my disney girls i'm trying to do one design a day. so the style is so sketchy. i request critiques because i don't really have anything done so fast and not sure if the style looks ok
Starting with the vision, I love the shape of Ariel's dress, it really embodies and emulates the shape of her mermaid tail The colours are very vibrant and pretty, I love how you aren't scared to use complementary colours and especially how you use them so well. This theme isn't completely original, but the pieces you have created from the idea are very cool and definitely not at all a replica of the original character's designs, it is inspired rather than copied.
It would have been nice if Ursula was a bit more polished; compared to Ariel she is a bit sketchy and while I imagine the cape to be glossy and polished, the edges of the drawing are a bit rough and undefined. Overall I really enjoyed analyzing all the bits and bobs of this, the design is very creative (i love all your shoes...)
I'm really loving all your Disney fashion interpretations, but something about these two make them my favorite. Maybe it's these color combinations that feel so electric and energized.
oh my gawddd, stunning!! I love your designs!! Such unique style and concept!! ^^ i would love to see more from you ~~~ Just curious though, you used work pad or classic w brush and paper?
